Loyalty proves to be the difference at the Box Office: The Vow edges Safe House with a brisk $41.7 million in Box Office Ticket Sales

The Vow begins strong on Friday night, and then finishes with loyalty to keep atop the box office with $41.7 million in box office ticket sales. We expect The Vow will enjoy high box office ticket sales this Valentine's Day with couples being drawn to a romantic Valentine's Day movie. The highly productive movie box office opened with several new movies, delivering higher than expected ticket sales. Overall, the box office is performing briskly in 2012.

The rundown of the box office weekend continues below.

The Vow movie stars Abercrombie & Fitch former model from back in the days. Channing Tatum is on the cusp of reinventing his Hollywood movie career with The Vow and upcoming 21 Jump Street. The ladies are responding again to the Tatum abs that made Abercrombie & Fitch ads popular among the female population. Rachel McAdams is always high on our list as a natural beauty with a sweet smile.

In The Vow, Rachel plays a character that loses her memory after a horrific car accident. Channing Tatum plays her husband, a man who must fight to save a forgotten marriage due to memory loss. The romantic drama proves to be decisive in scoring what women want in movies with a super $41.7 million in box office ticket sales to lead the box office pack to a mind boggling weekend performance.

Safe House kept pace with The Vow all the way to the end, giving Denzel Washington another major box office weekend to feast on in his lucrative movie career. Box office estimates for the Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds land the CIA-inspired movie tandem in second place with a $39.3 million in box office receipts. We can count on Denzel to give us another memorable performance.

In a solid third place, Dwayne Johnson leads the Journey 2: The Mysterious Island to $27.6 million in box office ticket sales. We can accept Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as a major bankable movie star with charisma. Past movies such as The Rundown and The Game Plan are a few of our favorite movies.

The rendition of Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace in 3D opens up in fourth place with $23 million in box office ticket sales, boosting the total ticket sales from the 90s blockbuster. George Lucas is obviously happy with yet another Star Wars movie keeping the dream alive from as far back as the 70s.

Last week's box office champion, Chronicle, responded with $12.3 million in box office receipts to position the metaphysical movie in fifth place. Teenage flicks with superpowers are always popular among young moviegoers. Chronicle resembles last year's hit I Am Number Four movie.

The second weekend in release, the ghost/metaphysical movie The Woman in Black, finishes in sixth place with $10 million in box office ticket sales. Daniel Radcliffe proves once again that he is capable of making movies beyond his Harry Potter stardom.

Liam Neeson stays strong in his The Grey movie, scoring $5.1 million in box office ticket sales, good for a seventh place finish in the box office. In total ticket sales, The Grey is currently up to $42.8 million in 3 weeks in release.

Big Miracle finishes in eighth place with $3.9 million in box office estimates. The Descendants keep going strong after 13 weeks in the top 10 box office with $3.5 million in box office ticket sales to score a ninth place finish among a highly studded cast of opening movies.

The super stunning beauty, Kate Beckinsale, with her amazing glove outfit wrapping around that sweet body of hers paces the competition in Underworld: Awakening, a vampire/werewolf movie that delivers $2.5 million to carve out the top 10 movies.

Box Office Estimates is excited about reviewing a box office weekend that collected $168.9 million between the top 10 box office finishes. Visit next week to read the box office estimates. This is the perfect timing for couples to enjoy The Vow on Valentine's Day Tuesday. Happy Valentine's Day to the couples. See you all next weekend.
